Compensation: $20/hour with monthly target-based bonuses

About This Role

We’re a small, values-driven furniture workshop and worker-owned cooperative based in Highland, NY. We specialize in upcycling, restoring, and transforming furniture with care and creativity. Our team collaborates on everything from shop work to business decisions, and we’re proud of the supportive and collaborative environment we’ve built.

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to help our team stay organized, connected, and supported as we grow. This role is part project manager, part systems-builder, and part team facilitator. We’re especially looking for someone who brings strong communication skills and a collaborative, people-first approach to team leadership.

As a worker-owned cooperative, we are seeking someone who is interested in becoming a future co-owner of our business. While you don’t have to fit this criteria to join our team, we will give preference to applicants who are passionate about becoming a future co-owner of our business.

The person who joins in this role will first and foremost take on management of shop operations. From there we will on-board you to other organizational responsibilities, including finances and invoicing.

  • Help facilitate shared decision-making and keep communication flowing

  • Collaborate with team members to build consensus around priorities and policies

  • Support onboarding and transitions into co-op membership for new team members

  • Experience with facilitation, team planning, or collaborative decision-making

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a studio or workshop setting

  • An interest in woodworking, repair, and finishing is essential

  • While prior woodworking or finishing experience is not a requirement, a willingness to learn and develop these skills is necessary to effectively support shop operations

  • Daily participation in hands-on shop work is required
